Dark, jet-plum velvet appearance that displays pure fruit immediately on the nose. Cassis, berries and spiced, candied fruit with good concentration and an attractive focus, depth and length. Showing a clear energy and intensity at this early stage, the meticulous fruit selection and winemaking has resulted in a wine that really captures the imagination - atypical yet stylish, fresh and pure with a protracted, layered finish.

"The 2015 Lamarque has a detailed raspberry and wild strawberry-scented bouquet with good tension: not a powerful Haut-Médoc but focused and crisp. The palate is medium-bodied with an attractive saline entry, good balance with well-judged acidity. This is a classic, stylish 2015 with plenty of freshness and class, one that I expect will land towards the top of my banded score once in bottle."

"This is an impressive wine from a much-improved estate. It has all the right elements of ripe berry fruits, some firm tannins and fine acidity, combined into an elegant, balanced package."

"An array of baking spices and toasty oak sits across dark-cherry compote and chocolate. The palate has a smooth, sturdy tannin frame and good depth of dark-fruit flavors. Try from 2020."

"The 2015 Château de Lamarque is a smokin’ good Haut Médoc and well worth checking out. Offering full-bodied richness and a plump, forward, hedonistic style that makes you want to drink a glass, it gives up lots of ripe plum and black cherry fruit as well as more spice, violets, and earth with time in the glass. Drink this sexy 2015 over the coming 5-8 years."

Decanter - 90 points:
"Very good ripeness and depth that shows the old-vine fruit and dedicated winemaking from this historic château."

Fresh and direct, with a savory-laced beam of cassis carried by a light iron hint on the finish.

Markus Del Monego  - 88 points:
"Dark purple red colour with violet hue and almost black core. Ripe aroma reminiscent of plums and marinated blackberries, freshly grated dark chocolate, hints of vanilla and roasting aroma. On the palate silky tannins, medium bodied yet with good length"

Andrew Caillard 92 points:
"Deep colour. Intense aniseed, dark berry fruit with floral notes. Well concentrated dark berry, mulberry fruit, chewy long tannins and lovely vanilla mocha oak complexity. Still in elements but well balanced. Finishes brambly but long and juicy."

Outsider ! "Depuis 2012 ce cru confirme sa lente et noble ascension. Il figure désormais dans les Haut-Médoc les plus qualitatifs. Couleur intense, belle et pourpre. Nez au fruité pur, frais et mûr. Bouche parfumée, suave, très fruitée et savoureuse. Ce vin n'a jamais été aussi fondant sans le corps soit négligé. Bonne longueur au grain tannique nuancé. Bravo !
Outsider! "Since 2012 this cru has confirmed its slow and noble rise. It now appears in the highest quality Haut-Médoc. Intense, beautiful and purple color. Nose with pure, fresh and ripe fruit. Fragrant, suave, very fruity and tasty on the palate. This wine has never been so smooth without the body being neglected Good length with nuanced tannic grain Bravo!
Assemblage : 50 % cabernet sauvignon, 40 % merlot, 10 % petit verdit."
